I switched from Canon cameras to Panasonic cameras

After 25 years I switched from Canon cameras to Panasonic cameras and couldn’t be happier.

The panasonic gx85 camera is the most impressive camera I have owned in the 25 years of working in photo and video.

I was nervous to move away from canon cameras, but I have to tell you, the Panasonic camera line is awesome!

If you want pro camera quality in video and film but don’t want the huge DSLR camera price tag, you must check out these smaller, very high quality cameras by Panasonic.

The Panasonic gx85 is the first Panasonic micro four thirds camera I have owned. I’ve had the Panasonic GX85 for 3 years now and still use it a lot. I’ve also added the Panasonic GH5 DSLR type body to my photography and video arsenal.

At the time of this writing, I have been into photography and video production for 25 years. I have used Canon DSLR bodies as well as many Canon and Sony 8mm, mini dv and solid state video cameras.

I loved my Canon DSLR cameras, but getting into youtube, I needed something smaller with great video quality. A lot of people are going with the canon point and shoot route, such as the Canon powershot G7 X Mark II.

I do love the Canon G7 X Mark II and will be purchasing it later this year. Canon is rated as one of the best for vlogs, pro video and photography but I wanted to try something a little different, so I went with Panasonic.

I’m still amazed at the photo and video quality of the Panasonic  micro four thirds camera line by Panasonic, even with the stock lens.

Panasonic GX85 Tech

  • New 5-axis in-body sensor stabilizer works with LUMIX 2-axis optically stabilized lenses in video and still capture modes using class-leading Dual Image Stabilization.
  • Eliminates the need for low-pass sensor filters while boosting fine detail resolving power by nearly 10% over existing 16-Megapixel MFT sensors.
  • Shoot lighter and faster with the modern hybrid photography performance of a Mirrorless camera and nearly half the bulk of most DSLRs.
  • Thumbwheel controls, integrated viewfinder and touch control enabled tilting LCD maximize control of the photographic experience.
  • Capture spontaneous moments with 4K imaging performance in both 4K video and exclusive 4K PHOTO and Post Focus.

For today’s interchangeable lens camera enthusiasts — or anyone looking for a lighter, newer more intelligent alternative to bulky DSLRs — Panasonic LUMIX Mirrorless Micro Four Thirds system cameras deliver impressive, no-compromise performance.

For more pro photography and pro video work, I also purchased the Panasonic GH5. This is a MUST-HAVE camera.

I switched from Canon to Panasonic cameras because Panasonic cameras are nearly half the size of most DSLR cameras, the camera sensors are better, low light photography is better, and they are less expensive.

The Panasonic GX85 delivers impressive large sensor performance in the most compact camera system ever designed by Panasonic LUMIX.

Thanks to the elimination of the low pass filter, its fine detail resolving power is boosted nearly 10% over previous 16-Megapixel sensors. Image stabilization is top of its class with the complementary LUMIX 2-axis lens O.I.S. and a new 5-axis in-body I.S., available in either photo or video recording modes.

What does this all mean? It means the Panasonic micro four thirds cameras operate much better in low light and image quality is phenomenal.

Camera purists will enjoy the familiar quick-access thumbwheel controls and integrated 2764k-dot eye-level electronic viewfinder, plus a tilting LCD display for greater flexibility in difficult shooting angles. Modern enthusiasts will love the WiFi mobile control and next-generation flexibility that 4K Video, 4K PHOTO and 4K Post Focus modes bring to the creative experience.

Making the switch from Canon cameras to Panasonic cameras was the best decision I made.

Check out the line of Panasonic cameras, read the reviews and watch videos on what the quality looks like. I think you’ll be very impressed.

I write about anything techy, music, photography, artsy and whatever I think you may find interesting.
